Had my final treatment with Dr. Cadena yesterday. He got "agressive" with the lower hamstring-tendon behind my left knee (inside & above knee). The agressive part had me writhing in pain. But I managed to take it. The good news is that last night and this morning (pre-run) my leg felt better than it has in a long time.

During the run the tendon tighten over the second half of the run but not as bad as usual. I noticed the hamstring occassionally but it wasn't an issue.

Doc says I should keep it at every other day. Increasing distance and intensity between 5-10% per workout UNLESS pain hits a 5 on a 10-point scale. If that happens, stop immediately, take a day off then try again. After a week of this, I can begin tranisitioning into some harder workouts.

I'm looking forward to altitude camp but disappointed that I'm not going to be able to go full tilt ....

Every day in every way .... Hamstring injury is hardly noticeable at this pace. Tendon still tightening a little over half way into the run. I have reservations about doing anything medium or hard paced.

Couldn't stay slow enough to keep heart rate down. Wondering if weather conditions are increasing the load this much. Temperatures and humidity are up but certainly aren't oppressive yet.

With my heart at 20 bpm more than usual BEFORE even starting this run, the writing was clearly on the wall at the outset: this was going to be a slow run.

The good news is my left hamstring barely even let's it's presence be known. The bad news is the tendon behind and slightly above the inside of my left knee seems to be progressing very, very slowly. I can feel it throughout my runs and it gets progressively tighter as runs go on. When sitting for long stretches at work, it really tightens up on me.

I'm tired of being patient already ....

Today's run was fine. Hamstring is getting closer to unnoticable.

At Friday's office visit, Doctor wasn't happy that I ran every day last week. Told me every other day is all I should be doing until this injury has healed. He also suggested the tendon behind and above the knee is an issue too.

I took the weekend off. Can't help feeling like I'm losing time ....
