"Every runner's greatest opponent is the wall--the wall of fatigue, that is. The goal of training is to push the wall of fatigue by increasing the maximum pace one can sustain from the start line to the finish line of a race. The goal of race execution is to actually run as fast as possible without hitting the wall before reaching the finish line. It's that simple." -------> Matt Fitzgerald <-------

OBJECTIVE
4 mi.
ACHIEVED
4.08 mi.@ 7:40
5:54 AM 62° 82% 2 mph
It rained last night leaving the early morning soggy and the air heavy. I pushed the first mile a little bit this morning rather taking the "Kenyan approach" of starting out just shuffling.
It seems I'm going to have to do something about my back and abdominal problems. Both were bothering me slightly during today's run. I'm hoping they are related and there's one fix to cure both.
PRE RUN
weight=167
POST RUN
frosted mini wheats w/skim milk

I felt slightly sluggish this morning. I suspect I am somewhat dehydrated, unrested, and and poorly nourished after my quick up-and-back to Utah the past couple days.
My running plan for the next several (seven ?) weeks is to stay consistent by getting up to and maintaining a level of fitness. I'm not in a position to ask much more of myself. Work over this time frame will be very demanding. My future opportunity (or lack of) with my post-merger employer will most likely play out over this period as well. The result could range from moving to Chicago to being without work. Hopefully things settle down in late February and I can focus on a Spring half marathon.
PRE RUN
water
POST RUN
orange juice, multivitamin, glutamine, calcium, oatmeal w/almonds, brown sugar & skim milk
