Today is my younger brother's birthday. Happy birthday, Larry!

I'm absolutely certain nothing like this ever happened in our younger days ....

Solo from the Y. Happy with pace given 84F start temp and running alone. Hammy was "there" again but not bad. It did get really hot again about 1.5 miles in but eased up a little less than a mile later.

Garmin gave me too much credit this morning - by about .59 mile. Which means I only ran 8 miles at 8:23. But doesn't that 7:48 look good?

Hammy was oddly numb much of the way. At a couple stages it got extremely hot. All of this a rather strange.

I'm sore from cannonball routine after yesterday's run and the day before and the ITB and core work on Wednesday. Just a sign that I should have been doing them all along ....

Hamstring is still not good. Did full ITB stretches, back exercises and cannonball series yesterday morning. Hammy started out very tight this morning. Didn't know if I'd be able to go. Just took it really easy. Finally loosened up a little over 2 miles in.

I'm sure my overall pace was not this fast. Buildings in Chicago rarely cooperate with GPS sattelite reception.

Left hamstring is screwed up again. Didn't bother me during Saturday's long run at all. Was noticeable during Sunday's recovery run. Ever since it's been really tight - all day, every day. It almost seems it's somehow volume related. Once I hit a certain number of miles, it's done and needs several days recovery to get back to anything close to normal.

Very challenging recovery run this morning. Legs, body, mind, etc. felt very tired.
