I scrapped the scheduled tempo run today since I'm not going to Colorado for the 10K on Monday. I'm still feeling too beat up from the half to make it worth the time and effort to travel to Boulder.
Now I just need to work on getting my feet back under me and feeling strong again. The singular focus is October 3 in St. George with a little 10K in Atlanta on July 4 to break the monotony.

"Every runner's greatest opponent is the wall--the wall of fatigue, that is. The goal of training is to push the wall of fatigue by increasing the maximum pace one can sustain from the start line to the finish line of a race. The goal of race execution is to actually run as fast as possible without hitting the wall before reaching the finish line. It's that simple." -------> Matt Fitzgerald <-------

Today's run was a carbon copy of yesterday's. The weather was the same. My pace was the same. And, surprisingly, my legs felt the same. I still have a lot of soreness. It feels like I ran a marathon instead of a half. I suppose it's the descent on the Ogden course that activated muscles I'm not used to using here in the Houston flat lands.
I'm still considering racing this weekend. I would like to go to Boulder for the Bolder Boulder 10K but the hassle of traveling may win out. There's a 5K in The Woodlands on Saturday. I can't seem to find anything local for Monday's Memorial Day - which surprises me. If I'm still feeling like I am now I don't need to worry about racing!
