"Every runner's greatest opponent is the wall--the wall of fatigue, that is. The goal of training is to push the wall of fatigue by increasing the maximum pace one can sustain from the start line to the finish line of a race. The goal of race execution is to actually run as fast as possible without hitting the wall before reaching the finish line. It's that simple."

Running for Office
Little known fact of the day ... Sarah Palin has clocked a 3:59 marathon.
How about you, Senator Biden? Mr. Obama, can you put down your cigarettes long enough to train for a marathon?

that is good to know! thanks for sharing, and Go sarah!
Does Obama smoke?
Ahhh, two little known facts for the price of one. Stick with me people ... the blog is educational, too!
Yes, Barak Obama is a smoker.
Wow! I didn't know... Cory you have a picture... I think you should make up a new blog and educate us all. What do you think?
could be fun!!!
This is the Cory I miss. Can you say SARCASM. I was never sarcastic until I started hanging around the 'peanut' family.
So you're a Palin fan. Good to know. I'm with the others, keep up the educational stuff. That way I don't have to figure it all out on my own.
I can't wait to tell Tim she's a marathoner. That will clench it for him. (well, maybe)
Careful there, Mrs. Grubb. I said nothing about being a "Palin fan".
This is my running blog. Therefore, it's apolitical. Just an observation that Palin has run a very respectable marathon time.
And now to prove my bipartisanism, here's the third little known fact on this thread:
Until 1980, John McCain was a two-pack-a-day smoker.
That does it! I'm voting for Ralph Nader.
So, John McCain is able to change? Reform? That's an interesting quality!
And I did not state that you were a Palin fan, I asked.
Who's Ralph Nader?
Coldest State - Hottest Governor!
