I'm still struggling with my running. My latest self-diagnosis is that I'm battling allergies. Today is the sixteenth day. Ever since I got back from Utah, I haven't been "right". I haven't been hitting any of my training targets and am generally fatigued. I've still made all my miles but fear most of them fall into the "junk" miles category. I haven't yet found a solution that provides much relief. I'm sure the work situation isn't helping.
I ran 8 miles this morning from the Y. The middle 5 were supposed to be a tempo run of 7:33. I started okay over 2 miles but faded and ended up at 8:16. Meaning it wasn't much of a tempo run and that I missed my pace by 43 seconds.
The frustration continues to mount ....
"Every runner's greatest opponent is the wall--the wall of fatigue, that is. The goal of training is to push the wall of fatigue by increasing the maximum pace one can sustain from the start line to the finish line of a race. The goal of race execution is to actually run as fast as possible without hitting the wall before reaching the finish line. It's that simple." -------> Matt Fitzgerald <-------

Still Not Right
I'm on the bus this morning so I have a couple minutes to post .... I missed last Saturday's and Monday's posts but expect to have something up for them in the next couple of days. Work has been hectic but hopefully there's a break around the corner.
